Laird C. Bradley, owner and managing broker of Williamson Group Sotheby's International Realty, established the firm in 2000. He has been fortunate to have gathered a team of talented and dedicated professionals who, collectively, have become the top producing real estate agency in the Upper Connecticut River Valley.

Laird’s early years were spent caring for horses and cattle and helping his brothers produce much of the food for the family table on a ranch near Tucson that his father established after careers on Wall Street and as a US Attorney. He later worked to fund college on an Anaconda Copper survey crew and framing houses in the southwestern summers of southern Arizona where they would arrive onsite at 3am.

He graduated from the University of Arizona with a BS in Economics and BA in Journalism employing those skills working for several publications, in radio, and television.  His career path led him to work in New York City before taking a road less traveled and migrating north to Vermont. And that, with deference to Robert Frost, has made all the difference.

Laird has devoted himself to a variety of enterprises over the years guided by passion, not profit. He has restored antique homes and constructed new ones using vernacular New England architectural styles as a template. He has established, operated, owned or been a partner in several regional businesses including The Prince & Pauper Restaurant and Three Tomatoes Trattoria.  More recently, due to the post-pandemic labor shortage, he picked up his tools to renovate and repurpose the October Country Inn for primary residential use in an effort to address the lack of work force housing in the area.

Laird has long been committed to participating in his community contributing time in a variety of roles as an Incorporator and Trustee of the Norman Williams Public Library, on the Board of Directors of the Unitarian Universalist North Chapel, a member of the Woodstock East End Redevelopment Committee, public service boards, Town planning groups and professional real estate industry organizations.  However, he is most proud of being a father to his children, Allison ‘Sage’ and Christopher ‘CB’ Bradley, who attended school and worked in Woodstock as they prepared to take their own paths forward into the wider world.

Laird’s clients value his capacity for listening, extensive experience and knowledge of the area and real estate market, and ability to assist them in accomplishing their objectives through creative co-visioning and collaborative problem solving.  His steady personality, easy-going manner and optimistic perspective have been an asset to buyers and sellers making some of the most important and stressful decisions of their lives.
